Monorean was yesterday on the air on RTE Radio 1 from Ireland in The Ray D’Arcy Show. Listen to Ray talking about Monorean from the begining of the recording and also from minute 9:12. He’s a funny guy, isn’t he?
Since the release of iOS 10 for iPhone and iPad, Apple has introduced a feature called CallKit that will allow app programmers access the built-in phone features of the operating system. Thanks to this framework, app programers can now make and receive calls from their apps as if it were a regular phone call—the one we are used to up until now. As an example of the possibilities of this features, prior to iOS 10, if a friend of yours tried to call you via Whatsapp, Skype or Facebook Messenger you had to unlock your phone, open the app and then pick the incoming call but now thanks to CallKit you can pick the call from the lock screen.
What does that have to do with Monorean?
Prior to iOS 10, if your partner called you in with Whatsapp while on the exam you were not able to pick that call using the Beeper Pushbutton from Monorean Pro however since iOS 10 you’ll be able to pick an incoming call from Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp or Skype by simply pressing the Beeper Pushbutton for 5 seconds. Aditionally if your last phone call was placed using Whatsapp—FB Messegner or Skype—if you press the Beeper Pushbutton for five seconds you’ll initiate a phone call via Whatsapp to the same person.
You can now benefit from the Beeper Pushbutton feature even placing a call with Wahtsapp, Facebook Messenger or Skype. Any app implementing CallKit will work with your Beeper pushbutton.
